Newmachar Football Club was founded in 1920 and played in the summer league until this was disbanded in the 1970's.
Newmachar United Football Club was formed in 1987 and entered division 8 of the AAFA winning all of its matches and gaining promotion. The club won the Frank Waught Shield in its first season.
Season 2001/02 Winners of the Barclay Cook Cup beating Huntly on penalties
Season 2002/03 Winners of the Barclay Cook Cup beating Blackburn 2-0
Finished 3rd in League Division 2 East to gain promotion to Division 1
Relegated to division 2 in 2007/2008.
Finished 2nd in League Division 2 North to gain promotion to Division 1 in 2008/2009.

Brian (Joe) Wood, ex goalkeeper with Buckie Thistle, Turriff Utd and Buchanhaven Hearts was appointed manager at the start of the 1998 season. After ten years at the club, Joe announced his retirement in 2007.
Paul Dunn was announced as the new coach in 2008 with the task of getting the club back into first division football. Paul has had a long distinguished career as a player, signing for Stonehaven Juniors at 17, Keith FC at 19 and finally FC Stoneywood at the tender age of 24. Hopefully his experience as a player will shine through in his new found role as coach, and of course, head groundsmen.
John Matthews and Willie Simm join the management team for the 2008/2009 season. John has been involoved with the youth development at Newmachar for a number of years and Willie brings his experience as a former player and manager to the team.
A new committee is appointed with Ian Smith at the helm, providing a solid foundation to move onto bigger and better things.
2010/2011 Joe Wood returns after three years away from the club as part of a new management team. Greig Pirie is appointed manager, with Eddie Fraser, Joe Wood and Billy Bain forming the rest of the team.
